Do i need a Fan?
A fan is a power-driven machine used to move a volume of gas. In other words, a fan is an air moving device. In its simplest form, a fan comprises a motor, a fan housing and a rotating impeller. A fan’s impeller design, its rotational speed, and the power supplied by its motor dictate the volume of air that the fan is capable of moving and the amount of pressure it is able to develop in helping to overcome any resistance to airflow that may exist.
At current times, Fan's are broadly classified in the following two categories::

Axial Fan
Axial fans work by generating aerodynamic lift within the rotating blades. This is not strictly true in that aerodynamic lift forces generated on the blades only act to apply a thrust load on the impeller; it is the equal and opposite force that is important, that is the force imparted by the blades on the air.
Centrifugal Fan
This rely on aerodynamic lift from carefully designed aerofoils, centrifugal fans rely on dragging the air round, in circles and using centrifugal force to generate air flow. This may seem crude but a well-designed centrifugal machine can move air efficiently, withstand more abuse and generate considerably more pressure than an axial fan.
Fan Efficiency Both fans are effiencient for their applications. Axial fan have higher airflow and lower pressure while centrifugal fan have higher pressure but lower airflow.
Types of Fans
There are multiple types of fan for different application. We will list a few below.
Table Fan Table fans are small and compact and are perfect for cooling small spaces. They are mobile and can be placed on desks, countertops, and other sturdy platforms
Pedestal Fan Pedestal fans or ‘Stand Fans’, are tall and their height is adjustable. They come with oscillation feature for maximum air distribution. Pedestal fans are ideal for living rooms and bedrooms (high-performance models that are not noisy)
Window Fan This fan is effective for humid rooms where leaving a window open doesn’t suffice.
Ceiling Fan A widely used home appliance, ceiling fans come in varieties of styles, shapes, and colours to best match the decor of your room. They are great for air circulation around the entire room.
Wall Mount Wall mount fans are ideal for places with a limited area/floor space. Besides producing a powerful airflow, these fans are space savers. Wall mount fans are found in warehouses, workshops, garages, factories, etc.
Exhaust Fan Exhaust fans are used to remove excess moisture and unpleasant odours from the spaces. Since bathroom tends to get moist mostly, there always remains a possibility of developing moulds. These fans keep this problem at bay.
Tower Fan Tower fans are slim and vertical. Their design makes them a perfect fan for small and cramped spaces. These fans are powerful and quiet and hence can be used in bedrooms too.
Floor Fan Floor fans are quite powerful. They provide ventilation at foot level and are great for rooms where mounting a fan on a wall or ceiling isn’t feasible.
Industrial Fan Industrial fans are sturdy and durable as they are made of high-quality metal or steel. They are used for heat stratification, ventilation, and preventing air stagnation and are ideal for high-volume, high static pressure applications.
Misting Fan Misting fans, as their name suggests, release a cool misty air which evaporates and creates a chilling breeze. They are best suited for outdoor areas such as backyards, patios, and athletic fields.
